B4Auctions.com is an idea that Jim Fisher thought up over 10 years ago when he was introduced to a consignment lot concept close to Manheim Auto Auction. It was a holding lot for used car dealerships to send their vehicles to get repairs, minor body and paint work done and detailing before it was taken to the auction. They also were for sale. It was for used dealerships that did not have the time or facilities to get vehicles ready. That concept never came about.
I expanded on that original idea with the fact the franchise dealerships send old units to the auction and many dealerships are on a 60 or 90 day turn. When I was a dealer, I had the need for this concept to get rid of aged units. In the smaller stores I was involved in, it was not feasible to have a 60 day turn because the auction was too far away and it was very hard to replace retail units in the used department. This concept provides a way for the dealership to have a chance to retail their vehicles before they go to the auction where they will definitely lose money and pay fees. Advertising the fact of buying wholesale B4 the auction and being able to bid on vehicles makes it a win-win for the dealer and consumer.
